A Perfect Garage for a Hunter

My client is an avid hunter and fisherman, for him the garage is more than just a place to park the car; it's a sanctuary where equipment is organized, and his passions are pursued. In this transformation we transferred an extremely dated and slapped together space made by the previous owner into a well thought out organized space for his and his family’s outdoor and hunting gear.

The space was transformed using slatwall for fishing gear, creating space for chest freezers, designing dedicated spaces for hunting clothing and a gun safe, dual workbenches in butcher block, ample storage in drawers and custom 8 foot cabinets, and even room for mountain bikes.

The transformation was made challenging having other contractors installing doors and doing stucco work but we got along great and respected each others space.

Slatwall for Fishing Rods:

The foundation of any hunter's garage is effective storage for their equipment. Slatwall panels provide a versatile and customizable solution for organizing fishing rods and other gear. These panels can accommodate different sizes of equipment. A well-organized fishing gear wall not only keeps everything in its place but also adds a touch of aesthetic appeal to the garage.

Chest Freezers for Game Storage:

Proper storage for game is crucial. Chest freezers offer ample space to store the fruits of a successful hunt. We strategically placed the chest freezers, ensuring they are easily accessible yet out of the way of other activities. We found a spot under his new solar controllers.

Hanging Space for Hunting Clothing:

We added tall custom 8’ cabinets for hunting clothing. This was essential for keeping the garage tidy and ensuring that gear is ready for the next outing.

Gun Safe:

Safety is a top priority for any hunter. We integrated this into our design and created a space between slatwall and the cabinets for the a gun safe.

Dual Workbenches in Butcher Block:

Dual workbenches in butcher block provide ample space for cleaning and sorting ouut equipment. The durable and easy-to-clean surface of butcher block is ideal for these tasks. You can never have too much workbench space.

Drawers and Cabinets for Storage:

Organization is key in a hunter's garage. We installed drawers and cabinets to store smaller items, tools, and accessories.

Space for Mountain Bikes:

For family members of hunters who also enjoy outdoor activities like mountain biking, we allocated a designated area for bike storage. With the specific slatwall bike hooks the bikes are kept out of the way while still easily accessible. This ensures that the garage serves multiple purposes and accommodates diverse interests.

Conclusion:

Creating the perfect garage for a hunter requires thoughtful planning and efficient organization. By incorporating slatwall for fishing gear, chest freezers, hanging space for hunting clothing, a gun safe spot, dual butcher block workbenches, drawers and cabinets for storage, and space for mountain bikes, we designed a versatile and functional space that caters to their unique needs and passions. The result is a garage that not only stores equipment but also enhances the overall hunting experience.
