In the quiet hills overlooking the picturesque San Francisco Bay, a dedicated pest control entrepreneur, let’s call him Alex, found himself facing a unique challenge—large, daunting cracks in the concrete floor of both of his hillside garages. As a business owner specializing in exterminating pests, Alex knew the importance of maintaining a professional appearance, both for his workspace and his choice of wheels—a black Bentley that reflected his hard-earned success.

This is the story of the transformation that The Garage Haus achieved and how we created the perfect home for his prized possession - his black Bentley.

The perfect view and the perfect home for his prized possession - his black Bentley.

The Cracked Canvas:

Even though the cracks on Alex's garage floor were mostly superficial, they didn't quite match the vibe of his Bentley or his wife's Porsche Cayenne. Originally, the couple envisioned a simple, muted grey or beige look for their garage. However, during the consultation, I noticed their house and garages painted in bold, complementary colors like orange, burgundy, purple, and light blue, giving off an artistic vibe.

As we discussed the project and its timeline, I presented various color options. While the initial preference was for muted greys and beige, I also had two other flake choices—a bright red, white, and black vinyl option and a blue, white, and black option. Although we initially leaned towards grey, I suggested Alex get his wife's input before finalizing the decision.

Returning after a brief consultation, Alex surprised me by choosing the eye-catching Firehouse Red. Judging by their bold house color choices, it seemed like the red was destined to be a winner.

The Transformation Process:

The transformation process kicked off with careful preparation. We began by grinding the surface to expose fresh concrete for a strong bond. Addressing the cracks involved grinding them out and filling them with epoxy crack filler.

Applying the primer and base coat followed, and then came the fun task of distributing the vinyl flakes, akin to feeding chickens. The polyaspartic top coat sealed the deal.

One notable benefit of the vinyl flakes was their knack for concealing imperfections in the concrete. The cracks and the floor's natural slope smoothly blended under the coating, creating a clean, flawless surface.

The vibrant red not only served to hide imperfections but also added a touch of sophistication to the workspace. This subtle yet effective transformation turned the garage into a more stylish and functional space, perfectly complementing the luxury of Alex's Bentley.
